Joe Flacco to play Saturday against Lions, fantasy value still in question

The Ravens’ quarterback will play in his first game since Week 11 of 2015, we explore the fantasy implications.

Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco is scheduled to start in the team’s third preseason game on Saturday against the Detroit Lions according to NFL Media’s Adam Schein.

A week ago, Flacco told the media that his surgically-repaired knee was not quite 100 percent, but now it seems like he and the team are ready for him to hit the field. Saturday’s game will be the first time Flacco has been on an NFL field since Week 11 of the 2015 season.

Fantasy impact: In 2015, Flacco played in a Ravens offense that was definitely more centered around the passing game. Flacco’s 27 pass attempts per game last season was, easily, the highest average of his eight year career.

Despite finishing 2015 with the second highest interception percentage of his career (2.9), Flacco could still be a viable QB2 for some fantasy owners in 2016. But for now, his fantasy interest is towards the bottom when it comes to quarterbacks.
